Maxime Philippe grew up in the small town of Hammond (ON), very close to Ottawa. Music fascinated him from childhood, but it was at the end of his secondary studies that he decided to devote himself to it more seriously. A few years later, he obtained a bachelor's degree in classical percussion from the University of Ottawa. As a percussionist, Maxime has performed with the Ottawa Symphony Orchestra, the Ottawa National Arts Center Orchestra, Capital BrassWorks, as well as several other orchestras and ensembles.
After completing his classical studies, Maxime Philippe moved to Montreal to work as a freelance drummer and sound engineer. He began training at the Recording Institute of Canada, before touring for several months as a drummer in the United States.
Upon his return to Montreal, Maxime worked and collaborated at Fast Forward studio – where he was Rob Heaney's assistant for two years –, at Sophronik studio, at Beebop Studios, at Sphera Collective as well as at Studio Mobile. Since then, he has worked almost exclusively as a sound engineer, whether for recording, mixing or mastering.
Maxime Philippe has worked on a considerable number of albums, including Windogo by Alex Desilets and Ma route by Laurence Jalbert – both nominated for the Félix Awards – as well as more recently on the album Hapax by the group Oktopus, which was nominated for a Juno and the Canadian Folk Music Awards. Maxime is also the official drummer of this group, with whom he has offered dozens of performances in Quebec, Canada and Europe.

Visual Director
In 2015, Rémi created Sphera Collective, a collective of artists and technicians, aiming to offer musicians creative audiovisual solutions adapted to their needs.
It is within the framework of this collective that he develops numerous tools to highlight local artists, through various video clips, live recordings or making ofs. Since then, he has directed and produced numerous projects, while continuing to work as a sound engineer.
His achievements have allowed many local artists to reach an international audience, as evidenced by his collaboration with Vox Sambou and Tiny Desk (home edition) in 2021, or the online launch of the album Karawara by Rommel Ribeiro, published by Biscoito Fino, one of the most important music labels in Brazil.
It is in the continuity of this approach that Rémi joined the Fast Forward studio in 2022, in order to make it one of the hubs of the local cultural and musical scene, thus building ever stronger links between the different disciplines. of the cultural and musical industry.
In recent years, Rémi has worked with artists such as Clara Luciani, Joyce N'Sana (Révélation Radio Canada 2021-22), Simon Denizart (Révélation Radio Canada 2016/2017), Oktopus (JUNO nominee 2019), Vox Sambou , Rommel Ribeiro (Révélation Radio Canada 2012/2013) and many others.
